Arizona endurance rider Patty Danley sent us this great report of her 2008 ride season and experiences with Renegades:

Patty and ‘Shelly’ at the Man Against Horse 50

Dear Kirt and Gina,

My most recent ride using the Renegade® boots was in October at Man Against Horse, Prescott, AZ.  This was our second ride together and since this mare is still learning and conditioning, we finished the 50 miler exactly where I had planned. We crossed the finish line in 15th place out of 33 horses. This is a challenging ride and the boots were perfect. Kirt was at the starting line checking boots and making sure we were “good to go”…certainly can’t ask for better customer service!

I have not needed to make any modifications to the boots and I have not encountered any problems using the Renegade® boots. Our area is fairly rocky and some of the recent rides have been rocky, so with all things taken into consideration, I would guess that I am probably getting 300 miles or more out of the boots.

I always wanted a barefoot horse and my wish came true the end of April 2008. I will never put shoes on this mare. I am very impressed with the whole barefoot concept! I now have three barefoot horses.

I cannot say enough good things about the Renegade® boots! They are so very easy to put on and take off and they do not rub the back of the heel, nor do they accumulate dirt and rocks. I also appreciate the excellent product support!

Probably the most important tip is to maintain a good feed program, exercise regularly and routinely provide good hoof care and the rest should be snap!

My current horse is new to this sport and I am still building a solid base, so we only rode two rides this season using the Renegade® boots. We completed Devil Dog, which was a 60 miler, finishing 17th out of 52 starting and Man vs. Horse 50 miler, finishing 15th out of 33 starting.

We plan to ride Death Valley Encounter on Dec. 31st and then Land of the Sun in January and on to our first multi-day in February at the Eastern Mojave Scenic. We will have a successful 2009 ride season thanks to Renegade Boots! Hope to see you at these rides!

Sincerely,

Patty Danley and MMF Shelob
