Stay tuned for more news, photos and video from this ride! Congratulations to all of the riders for their successful completions at the Eastern Mojave Scenic endurance ride this past weekend.
Hi Kirt and Gina: I wanted to share this photo of Patty Danley with her Doc mare Shelly and my horse Pro Bono on the top of the Blue Buzzard pass on the 55 mile day at Eastern Mojave Scenic endurance ride. We — we being “The Renegade Girls” (Patty and I) are dismounting here to lead down the other side. Rick Leonard, who is behind us, also uses Renegades to train in at home – for competition he is still shoeing.
I’m including video that I added to youtube showing Bo being worked on the Friday before the ride by Kerry Redente, who was nice enough to work with him for me even though she had a broken hand that was in a cast.
Patty and I completed in 20th and 21st place out of 61 riders and had a great ride with absolutely zero problems! The boots worked so great in the snow for both of our horses. Patty hadn’t ridden in snow like that before and having boots on her horse helped with her confidence I think.
Thanks so much for your help with getting boots glued on Chief’s hind feet at the ride. There’s no better way than to learn directly from an expert – much appreciated! Chief moved so great in the boots and I was ecstatic that they helped him get through 100 miles on this ride to reach his successful 8,000th mile completion!
Now I feel like I can glue boots successfully for our next ride – the 20 Mule Team 100.
