Renegade® Hoof Boots have once again successfully conquered the challenging Tevis Cup 100-Miles-One-Day Trail Ride endurance ride. Since 2009, Renegades have successfully completed this ultimate test of horse and rider. The 2013 Tevis Cup had 161 starters and 75 finishers, for a just-under 47% completion rate overall. This year, three riders in Renegades were awarded completions. Our congratulations go to Kaitlin Elliott and “Kody”, Karen Chaton and “Bo”, and Diane Stevens and “Titan.”

Kaitlin Elliott and her horse “Kody”, an Arabian x Appaloosa gelding, earned a successful completion on their first Tevis. Kody wore a combination of original strap-on Renegade® Hoof Boots and the new strap-on Viper™ Hoof Boot. The pair came in 66th place.

It was the third Tevis and third completion for Karen Chaton and her Arabian gelding “Bo.” They finished in 25th place. Karen started in the Renegade® Pro-Comp Glue-Ons, but by the time they crossed the finish line, Bo was wearing three strap-on Viper™ Hoof Boots to replace the glue-ons the trail had attempted to claim.

A total of five riders started the 2013 Tevis in Renegades, three in strap-on Renegade® or Viper™ Hoof boots and two in Renegade® Pro-Comp Glue-Ons. Two of those riders were unfortunately pulled along the way, one at the Francisco’s vet check, and the second at the finish line.
