Congratulations to Mary Morrow and DV Caliente for finishing in 3rd place one day at the Old Pueblo endurance ride recently. Here is what she has to say about using Renegade® Hoof Boots:
What I like best about the Renegades is how my horse moves in them. He is a very sensitive horse. If he gets even a small cactus, he will stop and make me find it and take it out. So when I say he moves better in Renegades, that’s for sure.
He never went down hills very fast at all. He would pick his way and act as if his feet hurt, which they probably did in his shoes. On the first lap of the Old Pueblo ride, he flew that first lap. He really stretches out his stride and moves very well.
Also, in the past at Old Pueblo, he would tip toe along those rocky roads and trails. And I could tell the concussion of the hard pack roads really bothered him. Barefoot and with the Renegades, those roads and rocks didn’t bother him at all. He moved extremely well that first lap. In fact he was leading the pack at the first vet check. And he was doing it on his own.
Later in the ride he slowed down, because as I discovered later, the cinch rubbed him and he was sore on the sides. I am still trying to find the best solution for his cinch.
Renegades have worked very well for me and my horse.
