What is the North American Junior & Young Rider Championships (NAJYRC)?

” Young Riders” as it’s commonly called, is an FEI (Federation Equestre Internationale)-based organization specifically designed for junior riders between the ages of 14-21.  The events offered are the same as that of the Olympics – dressage, eventing, and show jumping – as well as the FEI World Equestrian Games disciplines of reining and endurance, and are run under the same FEI international rules and regulations.

The “Young Riders” organization has proved to be a springboard and starting point for many of the top International and Olympic-level riders currently competing today.

The first official NAJYRC championship was held in 1982, and in 2011, endurance was added as an official discipline.

The 2012 North American Junior & Young Rider Championships will be held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY.  Competition dates run from July 17-22.

The endurance race will be run Friday, July 20.  A  75-mile championship race is offered this year. In 2011, Renegade®-booted horses won both the 4-star championship and 2-star level, both distances of 75 miles. Our horse boots will be well-represented again this year, with several entries sporting Renegade® Hoof Boots!  We wish these young riders the best of success and a great ride.
